REIBIN: Patricia Ann (née Peterkin) left us suddenly on Friday, April 25, 2008 in Brandon,
Manitoba. Pat is survived by and will be sadly missed by her loving daughter, Shalane Esau (Chris)
of St. John’s, Newfoundland and son Brandon Reibin (Tara) of Brandon. Pat is the much loved
daughter of Doris Peterkin MacLean, the late Robert Peterkin and step-daughter of Gordon MacLean.
She is also survived by her sister Penny Isles (Richard) of California and is aunt to Kenny,
Courtney and Kristen Isles. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Kristoffer, Rylan,
Spencer and Harlee along with many aunts, uncles and cousins in Kingston, Ontario. As an animal
lover, Pat will be missed greatly by her four spaniel puppies. A memorial service for the immediate
family will be held on Friday, May 2, 2008.

As a child, I failed to see
The woman right in front of me
Gave all she could…her heart and soul,
To teach me how to reach my goals,
And as I grew, my vision blurred,
Her words of wisdom were not heard.
I knew it all, she’d hear me say,
I couldn’t wait to move away.
Adulthood came, I made mistakes.
She’d pick me up and soothe my aches,
And when, at times, I felt alone,
I’d find myself back at her home.
Now as a parent…frequently,
I repeat the words she said to me,
I sound like her, we kinda look the same,
I’ve come full circle in life’s game.
Yes, through the years, her wisdom stayed,
Within my heart, it will not fade.
It just grew strong, and in the end,
My mom became my own best friend.
